ComPly Sidewall Construction
ComPly sidewall uses a unique sidewall construction that puts durability to the test while providing the primo ride! ComPly acts as a shock absorber, dampening your ride by absorbing vibration, while you are cranking turns or sliding a longest rail. The unique and high-quality blend of technology can take twice as many hits as regular sidewalls. ComPly provides both jibbers and freeriders a performance advantage that other constructions can’t, offering greater durability, and providing a superior ride. If dampening your ride by absorbing shock doesn’t have you interested enough, Santa Cruz now offers 3 different ComPly construction variations. C1, ComPly and ComPly TI.
ComPly - C1 is a freestyle version of the traditional ComPly sidewall and takes the edge off your rail slides and park jibs while improving your edge grip on turns all day long. C1 is made from 1 layer of rubber sandwiched between 2 layers of resilient ABS. Found as a feature on a large portion of the 08-09 SC collection.
ComPly traditional sidewall construction returns as the original, and has all of the advanced ingredients to eliminate shock and vibration. The ComPly that you know and love is made of three layers of 1mm shock-absorbing rubber strips and added four layers of 2mm ABS plates, sandwiching them together above the edge. Whether dishing out turns, whipping-up butters or putting-the-smack-down on rails, ComPly provides stability in icy conditions and steep pipe walls
ComPly TI is made of 5 intricate layers that work together to maximise strength and vibration dampening. Comprised of 1mm of ABS, 0,2mm of Rubber, 0,4mm of Titinal, 1mm of Rubber, 6mm of Bamboo. The ComPly TI sidewall offers a genius combination of materials that offer up an organic, lightweight and responsive edge material. The steel has the spring, the Titanal (TI) increases the spring back enhancing the response of the steel edge, while the rubber absorbs high frequency vibration from chattering and shock. The bamboo brings a more organic flex allowing the board to flex as it is designed with less bind. Found only on the new performance Platinum series.

Found on all of our True Twin Tip (TT) enhanced models, the Bi-O-Metric Sidecut is engineered for riders who strive for versatility in the park, on the kink or when plundering the biggest of kickers.
Because Bi-O-Metric Sidecut boards are designed so that the backside edge has a deeper sidecut radius than the front side edge, allowing you more leverage when on your heel side – unfortunately something Mother Nature hadn’t thought of. No more too-wide ball-buster heel side turns or bending over to keep balance. Start imagining decent heel and toe side turns without exerting the energy and effort it would take on a regular board! Save the stamina for all day…or night long slashing, park riding and tight tree assaults. Bi-O-Metric Sidecut makes this all possible.
Another handy benefit, and the switch-hitter element to True Twin Tip design boards, is that the stance options are truly centered and designed to be ridden both ways. Your nose and tail are determined by whether you are ‘regular’ or ‘goofy footed’ and your stance is centered from each end of the board. The “backside edge”, is always the same regardless of which way you ride and marked for your reference. Bi-O-Metric Sidecut makes whoopee of your fresh morning turns and makes no bones about sketchy switch lip approaches. Bi-O-Metric is found on all models marked with the TT designation.
StrucTurn

Always looking to exceed expectations and satisfied with only the best, the Santa Cruz designers offer StrucTurn, the most advanced base technology available, on almost all of the decks in the 08/09 line. Although traditional base finishing methods such as belt or stone ground methods offer some benefits, they have limitations as well. StrucTurn combines the best of both worlds by providing optimum results in all kinds of snow.
StrucTurn is a micro-oval pattern stamped evenly into the base of the snowboard. StrucTurn helps to increase speed and velocity so there is less friction between the board and the snow. Like the dimples on a golf ball, the dimples in the StrucTurn base allow the board to travel farther, much faster, no matter which direction. The every day rider, the occasional slasher or the hardcore snow shredder needs speed to barge. StrucTurn charges in loose, wet, deep, hard or sticky snow conditions. You won’t go home complaining of loss of control or unwanted speed checks – there’s no drag with StrucTurn!

Double Barrel Construction
Get all the advantage of two boards in one with Double Barrel Construction. The essence of Double Barrel Construction is the unique channel that runs through the center of the board. This advanced performance feature functions like a skateboard with loose trucks when riding flat based, so the barrels work independently of each other allowing you a softer, more forgiving ride. When you put these special boards on edge (heel or toe), the two barrels become one to form a dual i-beam backbone that will allow you hold and edge through any crud even at the highest speeds.
